History of the SNBA
SNBA began in the Fall of 2003 with the first managers being Rollie Thomas, Caleb Smith, Chris Seider, and Derrick Hughes.
Mike Ross was the first ever pick by the Gators, and Kyle Thomas was the first pick of the Expansion draft by the Gators as
well. Rollie managed the Terps, Caleb the Devils, Chris the Gators, and Shorty the Trojans. After a strong opening season
with great player participation the tournament began. In the first ever SNBA championship, the Gators beat the Terps in the
opening round game. As the Devils had the bye, the Gators took the Devils to all five games but the Devils were too much and
took home the only ever SNBA Championship trophy. The offseason began with the second SNBA draft. Before the draft there were
several trades but with the first pick the Trojans took Corey Garrett. After a promising start with the most ever player arrivals
in the short SNBA history, an unfortunate player dispute lead to a season ending strike. Finally, after a long drought of
play the SNBA tried to make a comeback in the Spring of 2005. With new rules, new team names, and one different manager the
SNBA season kicked off. Three of the same managers returned, Rollie,Caleb, and Chris, the one new manager: SNBA Finals MVP
Kyle Thomas. Rollie managed the Gladiators,Caleb the Cobras,Chris the Legends, and Kyle Evolution. With the new season underway,
the future of league once again looked bright. The player dispute started back up and the second strike as usual cancelled
the season. With that, managers and players both agreed that this league could not work and the SNBA became extinct.
